The whole “Jesus” mythos is the invention of the Roman Empire, as a means to subjugate the Jews. The Messiah in Jewish tradition was a warrior King, who would overthrow Israel’s oppressors and rebuild the Temple. Rome’s replacement is a pacifist who would placate the Roman occupiers: “turn the other cheek,” “give unto Caesar…,” etc. This was revealed in Joseph Atwill’s book, Caesar’s Messiah. Don’t read the book. It’s a snoozer, and bends over backwards using a 1,000 words where 100 would prove his point adequately. The documentary (movie) is much better. See
